PERS 100 is a course for new or returning students who would like to learn strategies to succeed in their college career. As such, topics covered include time management, study skills, note-taking, and goal setting. In addition, we also cover WSCC student resources and career planning, and examine how your personality may factor in to your studying and time-management skills.

March FAFSA Workshop

You may have received a letter or email reminding you to renew your 2011-2012 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This may cause confusion, especially if you started with the Winter ’11 quarter and feel like you just did your FAFSA, but fear not as help can be found just around the corner.

If you already have financial aid in place for Winter Quarter or you have accepted your Financial Aid Award Letter for Spring, then you have completed your 2010-2011 FAFSA.

New Campus Eatery Hits the Spot

Washington State’s new campus eatery, Just Lunch on Campus, welcomed students and staff back this winter quarter with the inviting smell of warm, home-cooked meals and a tantalizing display of fresh and healthy wraps and salads.

Just Lunch Owner Cissy Henry has been in the lunch and catering business for 10 years and says her simple goal is this: “give people what they want.”

New Basketball Team Paves the Way for Washington State Athletics

Washington State Community College is getting competitive. Formed in late 2010 by student Alex Bailey, Washington State’s new basketball team hopes to spark some team spirit in the community college missing a mascot.

"I always wanted to play basketball – it never was just an option,” said Bailey, “I didn’t want to go to a four-year college, and I thought it would be cool for a community college to have their own basketball team.”

So far the team has faced West Virginia University – Parkersburg, Ohio Valley University and West Virginia Northern Community College.
